Rowing, Connecting, and Belonging with Row the Erne
10th May 2026, 9.30am
Waterways Ireland, Sligo Rd, Enniskillen
Row the Erne is a community group that formed through a shared love of being out on the water, enjoying the local landscape and celebrating the different perspective that Rowing brings.
We work as part of a team, recognising, appreciating and valuing each
others contributions.
The synchronised and rhythmic movement of the oars leads to a mindful
and reflective experience that is difficult to describe but impossible to
forget....

Poems for Peace and Belonging – Poetry Reading and Q&A
10th May 2026, 15.00pm
Black Mountain Shared Space, 280 Ballygomartin Rd, Belfast BT13 3NG
In a world of never-ending noise, let these poems bring you into a moment of quiet where you can breathe, be still and connect with others in a peaceful space.
Acclaimed Arlen House poets Maureen Boyle and Deirdre Cartmill will read poems of belonging, poems that explore life’s painful moments, and poems of hope.
This will be followed by a discussion and Q&A on how their writing helps them to connect, make peace with the past and envision a brighter future.
Maureen Boyle’s second full collection, ‘The Last Spring of the World’ (2022) addresses questions about survival, both personal and planetary and tells the stories of others who have lived lives in extremis.
Deirdre Cartmill’s fourth collection, ‘Under the Blue Seraphim’ (2025), much of it inspired by a residency in Belfast Cathedral, illuminates lost voices, and meditatively explores belief in something higher and what that calls you to become.

Songs for Our Common Ground
10th May 2026, 16.30pm
Black Mountain Shared Space, 280 Ballygomartin Rd, Belfast BT13 3NG
Through beautiful harmonies and uplifting group singing, we’ll explore what it means to belong — to ourselves, to each other, and to the natural world. You don’t need to read music or have any prior singing experience; just bring your voice and an open heart. Together we’ll learn rich, soul-nourishing songs that speak of home, community, and care for the planet — songs that remind us we are part of something larger, something living and whole. Singing in harmony is proven to support mental wellbeing, easing stress and fostering joy and connection. In this gentle, inclusive space, we’ll breathe deeply, sing freely, and find grounding through sound — reconnecting body, mind, and spirit through the simple act of singing together. Come as you are. Leave with a lighter heart, a calmer mind, and a renewed sense of belonging to the common ground we all share.
