“Moving Canvas” Film, followed by a Q&A with Noelle McAlinden

“Moving Canvas” is a film created by Noelle Mc Alinden on behalf of the NI Mental Health Arts Festival in 2024. The film showcases artists connected to the Fermanagh and Omagh area participating in a series of conversations, experiences and opportunities to PAUSE....stop and reflect upon their own creative practice and their own mental health and wellbeing. Artists responded to a number of experiences including the work of renowned Fermanagh based artist, Mavis Thomson, Senior Royal Ulster Academician. Participating artists came from across a range of artforms: poetry, spoken word, literature, visual & performing arts and art therapy. Screening of the film will be followed by a Q&A session surrounding themes raised, facilitated by the film’s curator and designer, Noelle Mc Alinden.

ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION:  To enter Enniskillen Castle you must first go through the main glass door into a small entrance area. The two sets of doors are wide and are automatic. The Reception Counter has a lowered level area closest to the stairs. A hearing loop system is available. A Castle Explorer Wheelchair can be pre-booked to use during your visit and is available to collect at Reception.

A lift is available opposite the reception desk. There is an Accessible Toilet located to the left of the stairs in the main Visitor Centre. There is an emergency alarm cord beside the Toilet. A portable hearing loop system is available at the reception area.  If you are bringing a Guide/Assistance Dog please let reception know so they can provide you with a best possible service. Complimentary companion tickets are available.

Chat-Tea Train

The target audience is any patient in any GP practice so over the age of 60 years old with the aim of reducing social isolation and promoting positive emotional and social wellbeing.

As people over the age of 60 years have access to a Translink Smartpass there were no costings in relation to the first event, and given the low cost high impact approach we intend to try and facilitate a number of times in the year. It provokes conversations between how to address social isolation in the community. The aim of The Chat Tea Train is to reduce social isolation and enhance emotional wellbeing. This initiative also aims to empower people to take control of their own lives and improve their social and mental well-being by boosting their confidence to get out more. This initiative will take advantage of the community space and very good transport facilities in our city, with a continued focus on community participation and engagement through a collective approach towards reducing social isolation and loneliness within our community.

The Testament of Ann Lee
